The new black interior theme combined with the solid and modern surface textures present an image of high quality. The new dashboard design is lower to give a wider and more open feel for the front occupants. Complementing the two-tone theme of the dashboard is the high-quality textured surface.According to UMW Toyota Motor, it is four per cent more fuel efficient than the previous model, whereby one litre of fuel can travel up to 16.4 kilometres with the car running at 100km/h.
This is due to improved aerodynamics, lower weight and the adoption of electric power steering.Furthermore, this new engine adheres to Euro4 standards, with cleaner emissions and making it more environment friendly than others which still comply with Euro2 standards.
Speaking at the launch of the all new Avanza recently, Ismet Suki, president of UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd said, “The first generation of Toyota Avanza was launched in October 2004 and was an immediate hit among the Malaysian public. In fact, we are proud to have made Avanza a household name among Malaysians, which became the best selling non-national model for three years in a row from 2005 till 2007.”
