A malfunctioning engine appears to have been the cause of a fire that destroyed a motor home and vehicle and damaged a boat in Sausalito Sunday morning.The operator of the Locust Street motor home had just started its engine at about 10:45 a.m. Sunday when the engine compartment erupted in fire. By the time the operator and his family which included two young children and a dog escaped from the motor home, it was fully engulfed in flames, according to Southern Marin fire officials.
